Commonwealth University-Lock Haven to hold spring commencement ceremony

Lock Haven, PA (05/02/2023) — Commonwealth University-Lock Haven will hold its 146th commencement ceremony on Friday, May 12, at 3 p.m. at Hubert Jack Stadium. Gates will open at 1 p.m.

The ceremony will include graduate and undergraduate students from the Lock Haven and Clearfield campuses. The speaker will be Council of Trustees student representative, Justin White, a sports management graduate student from Philadelphia.

All students will be seated on the field and directed to sit in the appropriate area based on their college. Graduate students will be seated in the front rows of the student section.

No parking will be available at Hubert Jack Stadium. Signage and Public Safety personnel will direct guests to empty lots. The university will provide disability accessible shuttle service to the stadium from the lower campus parking lots prior to the start of the ceremony and immediately following the ceremony. Disability parking will be available and a handicap placard or license plate is necessary.

A clear bag policy will be in place. The guidelines limit the size and type of bags that can be brought into the venues. These guidelines do not change the items individuals may bring, but restricts the type of bag used to carry items. Small clutches and wallets are permissible per the guidelines outlined below. Larger bags must be clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and cannot exceed 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches. Clear one-gallon plastic freezer bags (Ziploc bag or similar) are also permitted. Items not permitted in the venue include: large purses, strollers, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, wrapped gifts, diaper backs, computer bags, luggage of any kind, cinch sacks, fanny packs, camera bags and umbrellas.

Each graduate will receive four tickets. Additional guests will not be permitted inside Hubert Jack Stadium and tickets are not transferrable among graduates. All seating for guests will be on a first-come basis and will require a ticket. Disability seating will be available on the field. One guest may accompany the person with the disability.

Overflow seating will be available in Price Performance Center. No tickets are required for Price, however, seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Children 2 years of age and under will not require a ticket, but need to sit on a lap. No car seats, strollers, etc. Wearable baby packs are allowed, but will be subject to inspection. Children 3 years of age and up require a ticket.

As in previous years, all ceremonies will be live-streamed so families, supporters, and friends may watch and celebrate virtually. Links will be available on the www.lockhaven.edu/commencement web page.
